Our Story
EPIC Healthy Life was founded on a simple but powerful belief: good health is a right, not a privilege. Too many families in our community face barriers — not to healthcare itself, but to the basic conditions that make good health possible.
Research shows that up to 80% of health outcomes are determined by social and economic factors like access to nutritious food and stable housing. Yet most health-related funding goes to clinical care. We set out to change that equation by directly addressing the root causes of poor health in the communities that need it most.
Our focus: We target the two most impactful social determinants of health — food insecurity and housing instability — through direct services, community partnerships, and systemic advocacy.

Our Approach
We combine direct service delivery with community advocacy and systems-level change. This means we:
- Provide immediate relief through food pantries, meal delivery, and emergency housing assistance
- Connect people with resources through case management and navigation services
- Build long-term solutions through partnerships, advocacy, and community empowerment
- Measure our impact with data to continuously improve our programs

EPIC Healthy Life primarily serves the Metro Detroit area, with our headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, and our food pantry operating out of Detroit. Our programs reach families across Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.
